All Palo Duro Zip Line and rappelling adventures are designed and tested for a maximum rider weight of 300lbs. This is for a solo rider or combined weight for tandem riders.
There are no AGE restrictions young or old. currently our oldest zip-line rider is 87 years old and our youngest is 10 months old. What makes this possible is our passive brake system which requires no input from riders, meaning there are no special training classes to take or welding gloves to wear.
Minimum WEIGHT of the SOLO zip rider is 60 lbs. This is because light weight riders may not have the momentum to make it to the brake zone. This minimum weight is not consistent. there are times when conditions cause us to adjust the minimum solo weight requirements.
LESS than the minimum? NO PROBLEM light weight riders can ride tandem. TANDEM rides are when two riders wearing separate harnesses are attached to the same trolley and ride together. Best of all Tandem riders only cost an extra $5.
The experiences are designed for participants of average mobility and strength who are in reasonably good health. Obesity, pregnant women, back, neck, leg, high blood pressure, cardiac and/or coronary artery disease, pulmonary problems, arthritis, tendonitis, and other joint musculoskeletal problems may all impair the safety and well being of participants, as may other medical and psychological and psychiatric problems. All such conditions may increase the inherent risks of the experience and cause the participant to be a danger to himself or others. Persons with any underlying medical problems may carefully consider those risks before choosing to participate. They must fully inform our staff in writing prior to the beginning of the event. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO EXCLUDE ANY APPLICANT FROM PARTICIPATING FOR ANY REASON.
